Visiting Disabled Access

Disabled Access

Equal Access Project
From Monday 9 January access to the Cathedral will be via the South door (near the Norman Tower). Temporary disabled access will also be possible to the Cathedral via the South door. Work commences on that day to improve the access through the main Cathedral entrance, making provision for full and equal access for all. This work is due to be completed on 2 March.

Visitors to the Shop should use the Angel Hill door. Access to the Cathedral Centre, including the meeting rooms, Discovery Centre and the Refectory is from Angel Hill only.

We apologise for any inconvenience whilst this important work is taking place.

The ground floor areas of the Cathedral, Cathedral Shop, Refectory and toilets are fully accessible. There are two steps down into the Cathedral in the porch. There is a temporary ramp available. Please ask (in the Shop if necessary) for a verger who will be happy to assist. A large print version of the visitor leaflet (in English) is available. The weekly pew leaflet is also available in large print. The Cathedral and the meeting rooms have a loop system. There is a lift in the Cathedral Centre providing access to the Discovery Centre, Song School and Lecture Room.
