St Edmundsbury Cathedral Organ is struggling to keep up to the standards of most of the English Cathedrals; not for any lack of skill or effort by the many brilliant musicians the Cathedral is fortunate to attract, but because the instrument is now of such inferior quality and in such poor condition. Since there was only a limited budget available in 1970, the whole organ has become an instrument assembled from bits and pieces of varying antiquity and deteriorating quality. The Cathedral needs to raise £850,000 for the reconstruction of the Cathedral Organ. Please consider a donation of £50 to sponsor an individual pipe, and its associated controls.
