Lighting A candle

Even on days when the Cathedral is noisy — usually with building work — there is always a place in the Edmund Chapel to pray. Lighting a candle is a poignant symbol of light in the darkness and a text of a prayer is provided if that helps. Those who pray are welcome to write a prayer down and they will be offered in the prayers at Morning Eucharist the next day. The human needs that come in the prayers that are left ‘earth' our other prayers in the world, as we bring those cares to God.
