Who's Who
- Assistant Director of Music Born in Hertfordshire in 1983, David Humphreys took up the organ aged 13 whilst a pupil at St Albans School. He went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music with David Titterington, whilst holding the Organ Scholarship at All Saints, Margaret Street. He gained a First in his final exams at the end of the Organ Foundation Course, and spent the following year as Organ Scholar at St Albans Abbey, where he regularly accompanied both the Cathedral Choir and the Abbey Girls Choir. Whilst there he recorded a CD of romantic and modern organ music on the Lammas label, which was released in January 2005 to good reviews. On leaving St Albans he went up to Jesus
College, Cambridge, reading music and holding the Organ Scholarship. With
the college choirs he appeared on BBC radio and television, undertook
three European tours, and made several successful CD recordings. He was
also the principal conductor of the college orchestra, with whom he undertook
successful performances of a wide variety of major orchestral repertoire,
and won the college's Renfrew Prize for music in his final year. Dean |
